Warning! Warning!

Alright, here's to a little wingy dingy. I haven't posted in an eternity or two, so there's no guarantee just how long this is going to be. Off the top of my head, there's a few things I want to jot down, so here goes....

First off... last weekend, I managed to sneak off with my favorite troll ( :P ) to the icy depths of New Hampshire to spend a few days of relaxation, eating, sightseeing, and the like. I had a lot of fun, and, seeing as we were positioned directly next to a gorgeous lake, my swimming lessons continued. Apparently, I managed to tread water by myself for more than 2 seconds without sinking and doggy paddle about 3 strokes by myself. Yeah, I know. Not much of an accomplishment. But I'm happy so you can bite me. ;) I also got to take a very nice canoe ride all over the lake and saw some very interesting rocks. Yay for rocks! In the end, I had a lot of fun, and will hopefully be going up again before summer ends. :)

Secondly, and this story happened only a few days ago. I was up the skyline trail once again walking with my trophy wench (Heheh, just kidding charmski.). We were looking for a decent spot not too close to the trail to go camping at. Well, after a bit of successful searching, it was starting to get a little dark, so we went back down the trail to leave (We were about three quarters of a mile in.). Well, first I'll say that Charmaine is very sensitive to all those little things that go bump in the night. That little blurb is significant... and made me remember something else that I should tell as well. But... digresstastic. Anywho, we were walking back and were almost at the final bend in the trail when she jumped suddenly and turned around. Apparently, she heard something that to her at the time sounded almost like the rattling of a bicycle chain... but no cyclists were behind us. Well, I did the typical male anti-spook reassurance thing and we continued walking. Once we had reached the final straightaway... I heard something too. It was a loud chugging. You know, like a train. Well, as soon as the noice started, Charmaine bolted to the exit. I stayed my ground. The eerie part was that as soon as she started running, the noise stopped. After this, I ran up the trail to catch up with her (It was getting very dark.) and we didn't stop until we were back at Cranberry Bog where we had quite a discussion. Now, here's the funny part. I don't know what it was. I could've been anything. But... this trail was once a train track... and hearing something that sounds like a train on said trail is definitely a little startling. Definitely gave me the hair-on-end back-of-neck goosebumps. Yay ghost train! Or... whatever it was!

Alright, another story. About two weeks before this expedition, Charmy and I made a late-night stint into Fort Griswold in Groton. It's a very historical site, and, apparently, very haunted. I don't recall the details, but it was there where the British slaughtered some 150ish men, women, and children during the Revolutionary War. Well, with that sort of background, you just HAVE to visit it at night, right? We did that very thing. Though I didn't see anything inside the fort, the hair on the back of my neck was standing on end the whole time I was there. It was definitely very spooky. I need to stop trying to scare myself I guess ;)

Alright, final little story for this entry. Yesterday, we threw a VERY spontaneous 25th birthday party for my friend and coworker Morgan. To shorten this story a bit, I will say that the party was quite a success. Everyone except 1 person managed to show up, though that one never even responded. Everyone was fed, though we still had WAYYYY to much food left over. We had a campfire with a roaring potential for s'mores. The tiki torches worked. We managed to get Laura the heck out of her apartment. ;) My brother Matt got completely trashed and threw up twice. Robin didn't hit me. I fell on my butt coming down the hill in my back yard. So did Charmaine. Josh ate a charbroiled cheeseball for 10 bucks. And, most importantly, Mo had an absolute blast. Back at work I asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he told me to lock him in a room with 'a loose redhead and a bottle of Jack'. Well, I improvised. I zipped him into a tent with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a tickle-me Elmo. Close enough right? Once Laura gets some pictures for me, I will happily post them here.

Wow, I'm actually having fun this summer. Go summer!
